2011
The Journey Begins
The journey of Fiber Kraft, launched in Leela Palace with a few underprivileged rural palm leaf artisans and setting up a new template for traditional crafts and creating a redefined version.
2012
Birth of Kottanz
Kottanz was born out of necessity to give regular and recurring work to artisans. Explored every possible weave and technique in Palm craft. And created three new woman clusters
Kottanz is a homegrown craft design brand the pioneering in hamper baskets and home accents with Palm Leaf, Natural Fiber.
2014
Expansion and Kalamkari Handlooms
Added Kalamkari handlooms in our portfolio, Started our first independent studio for Kottanz
2015
Exploration of Natural Fibers
explored every possible natural fiber in South India including Banana, water hyacinth, jute, river graas and trained few clusters of artisans who have spent generations practicing these crafts and reimagined the craft with more vibrant, design changes and setting a new template and identity for these crafts and craftswoman employing more than 100+ rural woman and consistently giving them work
2016
Social Media Milestone
Reached a milestone Of 1L social followers in Facebook and part of their SME council, as we are initial brand to start social selling
2017
Sustainable Materials and E-commerce Launch
Started exploring sustainable materials beyond natural fibers, we slowly stared experimenting with metal trunk and other handlooms of India
2018
Continued Growth and Virtual Support
Reached a milestone of 1000+ craftsman Launch of our ecommerce platform www.Kottanz.com Best Online gifting company, launched our 2nd unit river grass cluster and were the pioneer to give virtual support to customers through video calls.
2019
Kalamkari Artworks and New Ventures
Kalamkari artisan cluster and started using artforms on metals, wood and started with Kalamkari artworks
2023
Art-based Collection and Online Store Launch
Launched art-based collection #KottanzArtAttack where art forms were used and more folk art forms of India were explored Fabric and artworks representing everyday India and customs were launched. We had a social social family of 2L. Started our Amazon and Etsy store, our new vertical of DIY
